Election in Denmark

On 13'th of November, there will be an election for the danish goverment. What's this got to do with the Faroe Islands? Sadly... alot.

The Faroe Islands and Greenland have 2 posts there each, and when danes are voting, we'll be voting on which 2 persons to send to Denmark.

As a republican, i oppose of this.

You might have noticed i am somewhat biased, but when biased thoughts occur, you will notice.

OK I know I don't know much about the politics of the Faroe Islands but I am assuming that if you are a republican you are for independence. I know my cousin that was here in September is for independence. But let me ask a question, until we gain independence isn't it better to have some representation in Denmark rather then having none.

Plus do you feel the Faroe Islands is ready for independence? What I mean by that are they ready financially without Denmark's subsidies?

Also what of all the Faroese in Denmark? I have a lot of family that has moved to Denmark for work during the depression and I have younger cousins that are going to school currently in Denmark. How is all of these situations going to be handled.

I know this is a lot so if you want to just email it to me you can.

Yes, it is, that is way a republican is sitting in one of those posts at the moment.. so he also can have that arena, to work for the good of the Faroe Islands, and also work closer towards full independence.

approx. 5 years ago, they slashed 365 million Danish crowns off the subsidy (spelling?) package, a package which counts approx. 1.2 billion crowns. So roughly 1/4 was cut, this was the republicans which did this, and 5 years later, we're still having the best times in our country' history. We have a unemployment percent of approx. 1%, which is way lower than any normal country has.

The Faroese people, gone to denmark, to attend school, and still have a Faroese citizenship, will be handled by the Faroese government.

Feel free to ask more specific, and ask the same question again, if my vast experience in english didn't cut it this time.

I didn't mean to say "vast" there... i have little to none experience... vast has the straight opposite meaning.
