It's announced now. They've got approx. 1 million danish crowns in debt, and are bankrupt.
The festival was the major attraction during the summerfestivals, and i don't see how this can be reinstated. It's a damn shame in my view.

I saw this on Portal.fo but I could figure out if it was good news or bad news. I was hoping you were going to cover this.
It is a shame that is going bankrupt. I have pictures of the place and it really looked like a great place to have a concert. I am not I would enjoy all the music but I would think it would be experience just the same.
Have any of the Faroese artist that have made fairly big thought of helping out to keep it going??
Sorry I didn't read it before I posted it and there a lot of mistakes. Hopefully you can still understand what I am trying to say.

No, not that i've heard of. I don't know quite the economic situation of the faroese top artists, but i doubt they have a million to spare.
True but maybe working with the organizers and working with raising money through contacts in the industry might help keep it going.
Just a thought but maybe there isn't enough interest in keeping it going. I am not sure what the general feeling is about G!Fest.
The G!-festival was the epitome of summer. The most acclaimed and popular festival there was.
I don't know whether it will resurface in some other shape. But i think people need to figure out where that one million went... why such a popular festival, was able to get a deficit.
That's no good at all. Looks as if I'd better get to the Faroes as quickly as possible before even more stuff changes.
Yeah, G!-Festival... russians hovering close to us... you'd better get here soon Workman
I attended the 2003 and 2004 G-Fests and I think they were awesome. i will never forget the way the clouds moved over the fjord, the jet skis in dry suits, Pall finnur Pall, Eivor and all the rest. What will happen now?
