We have a national radio here on the islands, but we also have two other stations. One is devoted to Christian material, and one is the more alternative one to the national.
That channel can be roughly translated as "Channel 2" ( Rás 2 ) - And their ownership has changed hands. A company called "Miðlavarpið" has bought it, Miðlavarpið is affiliated with Sosialurin (where i believe Ogie's relative works).
They will try to match with the national radio, but yet, be different.
A gallery from their opening afternoon can be seen here:

Yes my cousin writes for the newspaper. I saw on the Faroese news that there was something going on between the newspaper and the radio. Didn't know that the radio station was bought. How will this purchase improve the radio station?? I usually listen to the other station but quite often the music played on the national station is not my taste in music.
Thanks for filling me on this news story.
This purchase is a positive, because a much broader perspective will be placed on news and debate shows. There will be more people affiliated with the radio now, than before. More professional people.
Here's how big a nerd I've become: I looked at the first photo in the gallery and thought, "Hey, I know right where that is! They're across the street from Hotel Torshavn! Isn't that the Nolsoy Pall monument?"
My wife thinks I'm insane.

Yes my friend, you are spot on! It's approx. 10 metres away.
And yes, you are insane... not!
