48.678 inhabitants on the Faroe Islands

The 1 July, there lived 48.678 people here. That's 274 people more than the year prior, and 231 more than there were at the start of 2008.

Statistics Faroe Islands, also says that the population has risen at the beginning of the year, but then declined at the latter part of the year.

This has led to, that the population has only risen by 250 people, from 1 July, 2004 to 1 July 2008.
